Kuala Lumpur is a city mainly famous for its two buildings The Petronas Towers and The Merdeka which is worlds second tallest building still on list. I had plans for Kuala Lumpur for a two day stay in September last year. One of my friend used to stay there and hence I decided to travel alone from India and meet him there and both of us can tour the city. But due to some family reasons he had to travel back to India during that time and my tour solely became a solo tour.
My journey started on 14th of September. It was very early in morning on the Saturday around 3 am in New Delhi I get out for airport as I had an morning flight at 9 am in a Singapore Airlines carrier. Before going I had some contact with Lisa online who is a Malaysian girl who further get me connected with Scotty a Korean guy who was too coming to Kuala Lumpur at the same time. So early morning I took the flight which has a lay off at Singapore from where I had a connecting flight to Kuala Lumpur.
So I boarded the flight had some good food for lunch with juices while taking a little rest till I reached Singapore in evening time according to their time zone. There I had to wait for three hours which meanwhile I checked the airport a bit which is also recognized as the best airport in the world. I did not had to move much as both the flights are in the same terminal while the airport staff had been helpful in identifying the directions.
I waited where I met another girl who was too travelling to Kuala Lumpur from India and she said had plans to see the formula one race and much more as she was on a longer trip. After a while I boarded the flight from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur and landed there in one hour. We have been taken from the terminal to the immigration building by a bus where it was almost vacant. There was also e-gate facility for some countries travellers. While for Indians I have to go to the immigration counter where the officer asked about my plans and why I am visiting there. He also asked what I do and said if I can fix his computer kiddingly as he is facing some issues in it. I said it would be too difficult for me. He put the stamp and said you are cool followed by welcome.
So I already has by booking of cab and the hotel. I called the cab driver met him and reached hotel at around nine in the evening the local time in Kuala Lumpur. In the road I could see the Merdeka which while asked the driver which he explained to me. In fact the driver also seemed from India in fact Malyali or South Indian. But he said he was a native Malaysian and I nodded. While I reached the hotel Ramada which is at the centre of the city where the receptionist was too seemed from South India and he too said that he is native Malaysian. I took the room keys and get to the room freshened up. The hotel do not have lunch and dinner facility and hence I gone to just beside there was a south Indian restaurant where I ate some food and came back to room.
I contacted Lisa again who gave me details of two guys one from France Achraf and other from India itself Kanav. Achraf was on a tour of Malaysia and Indonesia while Kanav was for his job just few days into Malaysia. So I contacted them and next day planned to tour the city. Next morning I woke up and took breakfast in the hotel and get out to meet Achraf who too was staying nearby. I called Kanav too who too met at the same place.
So we met at a super store where we drank some coke and took a cab to reach batu caves which we planned first in the list. The driver was again seemed from South India. After reaching Batu Caves which is just outside the city in around one hour we entered the place and checked while there is a big status of Lord Murugan in the first stage. The whole temple caves was built by cutting rocks and has three levels connected by stairs. So after that we moved to the second level by stairs in which there was a quite a much of energy exhausted where there was also a few temples. We visited all around and then get back below after that followed by lunch having biryani. After that we took a cab back to the central and most expensive mall of Kuala Lumpur the KLCC mall. As I had already the local currency, Ringitts with me I was not having much trouble with currency.
So we visited the KLCC mall and the KLCC Park which are adjacent. The Petronas Twin Towers are too adjacent to them. So we can had the view and visit all of them. We visited all of them with quite enthusiasm. The Petronas Twin Towers was indeed very tall and has changing lights during the night time. Later we had some more Thai food in a restaurant in the KLCC mall. After that we decided to move to the KL Tower from where there has been a great view of the city.
So we reached to KL Tower by walking while it was evening. Achraf decided to leave for his room as he had some work at that time. I and Kanav stood in the line for reaching the observation deck of the KL Tower. KL Tower is an old Islamic tower which has some decks for viewing the city. As it was too very tall and vacant except the decks while we took the lift the ears started buzzing and as I got to know it can happen in such buildings at such heights. So after that we reached to the observation deck. From there the city looks amazing along with the highlands which were all around the city of Kuala Lumpur. In the evening cloudy sky the Petronas Twin Towers and the Merdeka both looked awesome from the observation deck. Ater around two hours we came below and reached near KLCC from where I left for my hotel and Kanav for his flat. As I wasn’t much hungry just gone to sleep.
The next day morning I woke up and as hasn’t much plans and going outside to places like Cameron Highlands could require a bit of time I called Scotty who was planning to come to KLCC Mall in the afternoon. So I decide to meet him that day. In the morning after breakfast I get to monorail station from where I took the monorail to nearest station to KLCC. Google maps had been helpful through my entire tour. The monorail does not has wheels rather runs on magnetic technology. After that while going to KLCC mall I took a beer can and drank throughout the road as it is legal in Malaysia. Also I saw a few Tesla cars in the way which is yet to arrive in India. So I reached to KLCC Mall where I met Scotty and few of his friends had some coffee and chat with local Malaysian people who were very gentle. After that in the evening had some shop visiting in the mall and watching the fountain at KLCC park along with the Petronas Twin Towers. Around seven in evening I left back for hotel after reaching where I took food in the South Indian restaurant beside and got back to room.
Next day early morning around five the cab has to come so I slept around two hours in that night. I packed and left for airport in the early morning saying a good bye to Kuala Lumpur for the tour. It started raining in the way and as the airport is outside the city it took some time to reach there by passing through the highlands. Still I reached quite early to airport and had to wait for around an hour for the flight boarding to start. I took the flight to Singapore which I reached in one hour.
At Singapore there was quite a longer layoff time. Also the flight from Singapore to New Delhi was from a different terminal from the one I landed. So I had to take the sky train to reach there which connects the different terminals in Singapore Changi Airport. There I had some Japanese food in lunch and waited while for boarding the flight back for New Delhi. While the time came I boarded the flight for New Delhi which too was a Singapore Airlines flight. I had some food and while watching a movie in the flight journey I landed in New Delhi in around evening that is of Indian time. So I passed through the entry gates and customs clearance to outside the airport where I booked a cab for my flat.
In this way first short trip outside India has ended.
